Insights subscription usage UI

Account owners and admins can review subscription-related usage of New Relic products from the UI. This document explains how to review your New Relic Insights subscription's usage data.

View Insights usage

Only the account Owner and Admins can view the usage UI. However, anyone in your account can query usage data using the NrDailyUsage Insights event.

To view your Insights subscription's usage data:

  1. From rpm.newrelic.com, select the account dropdown, and then select Account settings.
  2. Select Usage > Insights usage.

For more information about using the UI, see UI features.

Calculation details

The Insights subscription usage UI displays only paid Insights events. These are events that count toward a paid Insights subscription. It does not display events that are included free as part of other New Relic product subscriptions; however, you can also query those included events.

How long specific types of events are stored in Insights will depend on each event type's data retention period in Insights. For a list of the Insights event types, see Event namespaces.

Table definitions

Here are definitions of the column headers displayed in the UI table and CSV files. The columns you see depend on the Group by option you select in the UI.

Header Definition
Account name The name of the account. This can be a standalone account, a master account, or a partnership.
Account ID New Relic account ID.
Event namespace The category of Insights event; for example, APM, Mobile error, etc. For more information, see the list of event namespaces.
Stored paid events The number of Insights events stored that count towards a paid Insights subscription. Events included as part of other New Relic product subscriptions are not counted.
% of total usage The percentage of the total usage used.

Query and retrieve data
