Eligibility guidelines for New Relic Nonprofit Program

This document provides New Relic's Nonprofit Program eligibility guidelines for organizations in the United States with 501(c)3 status. New Relic's Nonprofit Program currently is not available to organizations based outside the United States.

Exceptions

Most U.S.-based nonprofit organizations with 501(c)3 status are eligible for New Relic's Nonprofit Program, with the following exceptions:

Ineligible nonprofits Comments
Higher education institutions Private nonprofit and public higher education institutions do not qualify.
K-12 schools

Kindergarten through 12th grade schools do not qualify. This includes:

  • K-12 public school districts
  • Individual K-12 public schools within a State or Federal funded school district
  • Standalone K-12 Charter schools
  • K-12 Knowledge is Power Program (KiPP) schools
  • Other K-12 schools that are not part of a State or Federal funded school district
Healthcare organizations providing patient care
  • Hospitals and healthcare systems providing patient care do not qualify.
  • Free clinics may qualify.
501(c)4, 501(c)6, or non 501(c)3 organizations
  • Organizations that do not have a 501(c)3 designation, but rather a 501(c)4, 501(c)6 or other nonprofit status, do not qualify.
  • Organizations that possess multiple IRS designations, such as both a 501(c)3 and 501(c)6 status, do not qualify if their primary use of New Relic products would not be for the 501(c)3 entity.
State and local organizations

Some state and local organizations do not qualify. These organizations include but are not limited to:

  • State and local government agencies
  • Government owned or government funded health care organizations
  • Economic development organizations
  • Chambers of Commerce (excluding foundations)

Additional requirements

In order to participate, approved organizations must also:

  • Provide proof of 501(c)3 status.
  • Accept New Relic's standard terms of service.
  • Be on a host-based model.
  • Be a direct customer of New Relic and have a direct billing relationship with New Relic.
