Troubleshooting SSL certificate errors

Problem

On some Linux installations, you see errors in the daemon log file when you enable SSL communication between the daemon and the New Relic servers.

Solution

Usually these errors indicate you are missing certificate files in /etc/pki. Update your certificates and restart the daemon:

  1. Update your certificates:
    update-ca-certificates
  2. Restart the daemon:
    /etc/init.d/newrelic-daemon restart
