Log in to and install New Relic via partners

If you signed up for New Relic through one of New Relic's partners, you may need to follow additional single sign on (SSO) procedures to log in to start using New Relic. There also may be special steps needed to complete the deployment process. This document provides basic login procedures for accounts created through New Relic partners, with links to additional resources as applicable.

Create a New Relic account (all partners)

If you have received a special offer from a New Relic partner, follow the partner's link directly to create a New Relic account.

Sign into and deploy New Relic (most partners)

You will receive an email confirmation message with a link to confirm your account, sign into New Relic, and complete the deployment process.

Sign into and deploy New Relic (special partners)

These partners require specific login and deployment procedures for you to use your New Relic account.

A - M partners

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Different installation and page viewing procedures apply, depending on whether you want to install AWS for your app or your server monitor. For more information, see Amazon Web Services (AWS) users.

AppDirect

AppDirect does not require SSO to access your New Relic account.

  1. Use the email and password you created to log in to New Relic APM at https://rpm.newrelic.com.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to deploy the agent and give your app a meaningful name.
  3. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your app.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

AppHarbor

AppHarbor does not require SSO to access your New Relic account.

  1. Use the email and password you created to log in to New Relic APM at https://rpm.newrelic.com.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to deploy the agent and give your app a meaningful name.
  3. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your app.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

Cedexis

To create an account through Cedexis and sign into New Relic:

  1. Log in to the Cedexis portal at https://portal.cedexis.com/login.html.
  2. Select Services > New Relic.
  3. Enter your API key, then select Add service.
  4. Follow these instructions to use your New Relic data with OpenMix.
  5. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your app.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

Engine Yard

Engine Yard is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) management solution capable of hosting web applications. Language support includes PHP and Ruby. For more information about installing and using the New Relic add-on, see:

Heroku

Heroku is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution capable of hosting web applications. With the New Relic Heroku add-on, you can extend Heroku with metrics from New Relic APM, Browser, and Insights. The New Relic add-on supports Java, Node.js, PHP, Python, and Ruby. For more information about installing and using New Relic with Heroku, see:

Magento

Magento has partnered with New Relic to give merchants faster access to data and out-of-the-box tools. The New Relic Reporting Extension helps e-commerce businesses to make data-driven decisions.

To create a New Relic account with Magento for your PHP app:

  1. Sign up via your Magento sales solution provider.
  2. After you sign up for your New Relic account, deploy the PHP agent to your Magento installation.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

N - Z partners

Network Redux

To create an account through Network Redux and sign into New Relic:

  1. Log in to your Network Redux account at https://accounts.networkredux.com.
  2. From the accounts page, select New Relic.
  3. Follow the Network Redux email instructions to complete the installation process, or contact Network Redux for assistance.
  4. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your app.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

Pantheon

To create a New Relic account through Pantheon and sign into New Relic:

  1. From New Relic's Pantheon partner page, select the sign up link.
  2. Follow the online instructions to complete the installation process.
  3. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your app.

After a few minutes, you can check your app's performance in the New Relic APM Overview page. For more information, see Pantheon's documentation.

Rackspace Cloud Tools

To create an account through Rackspace Cloud Tools and sign into New Relic, follow these basic procedures. For more information, see Rackspace Cloud Load Balancer plugin.

  1. Log in to your CloudTools account at https://cloudtools.rackspace.com/myapps.
  2. From Use Your Applications, select New Relic.
  3. Select your agent language (Java, .NET, PHP, Python, Ruby), then follow the online instructions to complete the installation process.
  4. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your app.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

RightScale

To create an account through RightScale and sign into New Relic:

  1. Log in to your RightScale account at https://my.rightscale.com/session/new.
  2. Select New Relic, then follow the RightScale partner instructions to complete the installation process.
  3. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your app.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

SpeedyRails

To create an account through SpeedyRails and sign into New Relic:

  1. Log in to your SpeedyRails account at https://manager.speedyrails.com/users/sign_in.
  2. Select the New Relic link, then follow the online instructions to complete the installation process.
  3. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data for your live Rails app.

Wait a few minutes, then check your app's performance in the APM Overview page.

W3 Edge and WordPress

To create an account through W3 Total Cache and sign into New Relic, you must install and run the W3 PHP agent, not just get an API key.

Deploying the agent requires administrative access, including:

  • SSH/command line access
  • Root or sudo access to run the New Relic installer and restart your web server

If you are running an economy, shared hosting, or blogger package, or if you are not sure what are your account permissions, contact your hosting provider. For example, if your WordPress site is on shared servers, you may not be able to install New Relic. Your provider should be able to give you information about your account permissions, or upgrade your account if necessary.

To install the New Relic plugin for W3 Edge/Wordpress users:

  1. Log in to your WordPress account at https://wordpress.org/support/bb-login.php.
  2. Follow New Relic's instructions to complete the installation process, or contact W3TC support for assistance.
  3. Wait for New Relic to begin collecting data.

Within a few minutes after deploying the agent, performance data about your app will appear on New Relic APM's Applications Overview page.

WordPress also offers a plugin for New Relic Browser.

Windows Azure

Windows Azure is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution capable of hosting web applications using various languages, including .NET and Node.js.
