Get app IDs and other component IDs using the New Relic UI

When using the New Relic REST API, you need to replace some ID placeholders (like {APPID}, {KEYTX_ID}, {PLUGIN_ID}, {COMPONENT_ID}, etc.) with the ID for an app, transaction, or other component.

You can use the New Relic URL to get some of these IDs. You can also get a list of IDs using the REST API Explorer.

Find IDs using the New Relic UI

The New Relic UI includes the IDs of applications and some other components in the URL. Here are some examples:

APM: App ID

To locate the {APP_ID} from the New Relic UI:

  1. From one.newrelic.com, click APM.
  2. From the app index list, hover over a specific app and click the information icon to see the app ID and other metadata.

Substitute this number for the {APP_ID} in your REST API calls.

Browser app ID

To locate the {APP_ID} from the New Relic UI:

  1. From one.newrelic.com, click Browser and select a monitored app.
  2. On the right side of the summary page, you can see the app ID and other metadata.

Substitute this number for the {APP_ID} in your REST API calls.

Mobile app ID

To locate the {MOBILE_ID} from the New Relic UI:

  1. From one.newrelic.com, click Mobile and select a monitored app.
  2. On the right side of the summary page, you can see the app ID and other metadata.

Substitute this number for the {MOBILE_ID} in your REST API calls.
