The New Relic Servers UI provides information about your servers' health, tools to customize which servers you see, and links for recent events, including:
- Free disk space
- I/O utilization
- CPU usage
- Memory usage
- Top 20 processes that are using significant memory or I/O
The amount of available information depends on the servers data retention policy for your account level.
View New Relic Servers index
To view the list of available servers that monitor your applications in New Relic:
- From rpm.newrelic.com, select Servers > Servers.
- To view details about a specific server, select its name from the index.
Use Servers index functions
From the Servers index, use any of New Relic's standard page functions to drill down into detailed information. In addition:

To filter or search by name, app name, categories, or labels, select the filter option. Or, to search by host names, type the name in the search window.
|Add a server to the index||
Select Add more, then follow the installation instructions for your specific platform.
|Modify the displayed name (alias) for a server||
By default, the server name that appears in the New Relic UI is the same name that is configured in the agent. To provide an alias that appears everywhere in the New Relic UI:
Changing the alias does not affect the agent name in the configuration file. Data still reports for the configured name.
|Delete a server from the index||
To delete a server completely, make sure its health status (colored bar) is gray, then select delete.
To remove a server from the list without deleting it completely, use the filter or search options to narrow the results that appear on the list.
View server events
The New Relic Servers index shows all of your servers reporting to New Relic's collectors, including their server host names, current CPU, memory, and disk usage. The color-coded bar indicates each server's current health status.
Here are some tips for selecting events and other activity.

|View details about a server's health status||Select the server's name to go to the server's Overview page. Or, select the CPU, Disk IO, Memory or Fullest Disk field for a specific server to see details about that specific metric for a server. For example, to view the list of processes running on a server, sorted by CPU usage, select the CPU field for the server's row.|
|View details about an event or other activity||Select the corresponding link.|
|Filter the list of recent events and activity||
Select the icon for a specific type of event or activity: general notifications, critical alert notifications, warnings, deployments, or All.
|Set up an RSS feed for server events||
From the Recent server events, select the RSS icon if available.
Find servers not in the index
The New Relic Servers index only lists servers that are currently or recently reporting data. New Relic's UI does not list servers that have not reported data for more than seven days.
- If a server is hidden, any bookmark to it should continue to work and go directly to its Overview page.
- If a server begins reporting again, it will reappear on the Servers index, and its historical data will be available.
- You can view hidden servers by selecting the number of hidden servers in parentheses next to the page index.
- You can use New Relic's REST API to list servers, including any currently not reporting data.
Use the REST API for server data
New Relic's REST API supports querying server monitoring performance data. You can pull the metrics in the same way you would for any New Relic agent. In general:
- Get the server ID and a list of valid server metric names from the API.
- Use the API to get the server metric data values.
