Restart the agent (New Relic Servers for Linux)

Deprecated

For the latest, most advanced host monitoring, check out New Relic Infrastructure.

If you need to restart Servers for Linux, the following command should work for any RedHat/CentOS or Debian/Ubuntu system. The same command will also likely work for other Linux versions where you installed the New Relic init script or an identically named init script.

To restart Servers for Linux:

  1. Execute the following command as root:

    /etc/init.d/newrelic-sysmond restart
  2. Verify that a message appears indicating that nrsysmond has restarted successfully.

Another method is to simply stop and then restart the nrsysmond agent by using the startup methods you have chosen for your systems.

After you complete any restart method, the data will again begin reporting in the Servers section of your APM Overview page and the selected server's Overview page.
