The following are the specific policies and dates for support of our Java agent. See our documentation about [general EOL policies](https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/licenses/end-of-life/notification-changes-new-relic-saas-features-distributed-software/) for information about New Relic's overall end-of-life policy.

## Versioning

New Relic Agents follow [Semantic Versioning](https://semver.org/) to indicate **MAJOR** versions that may include breaking changes. **MAJOR** versions may drop support for language runtimes that have reached End-of-Life according to the maintainer. Additionally, **MAJOR** versions may drop support for and remove certain instrumentation. ## New Relic Java agent releases and support dates [#java-eol]

Any versions not listed in the following table are no longer supported. Please [update your Java agent version](https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/apm/agents/java-agent/installation/update-java-agent) to the [latest release](https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/release-notes/agent-release-notes/java-release-notes).

## Java runtimes [#java-runtimes]

For support of Java runtimes, New Relic follows the [Oracle Premier Support Policy](https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/java-se-support-roadmap.html). New Relic reserves the right to EOL support after that date.
